Who are we?
We are a not-for-profit group of volunteer Community Artists, formerly known as 'Brainwaves Artworx', who live on the Northern Gold Coast. We are collectively known as 'Outsider Artists' (i.e. amateur artists).
Our group is run by members for members.

OUR MISSION:
We aim to increase our Gold Coast  local community's awareness and involvement in the arts.

With the help of sponsors and grants we provide a space and art materials and a social creative atmosphere where local  Gold Coast community members can meet, make friends and discover new ways to make art.

Our goal is to help reduce social isolation in our local community, by promoting art as a tool for communication and involvement of local community members.

We aim to maintain our members'  social and emotional good health, by encouraging their feelings of self confidence and self worth through creativity using the arts.

As we are a self-help group, we do this by encouraging members to research, compile and present (with help) a short art mini-workshop or demonstration to the group, at least once per year.

We also encourage all members to be involved in the running of the group, as well as being involved  in the organizing  of  any exhibitions and events the group may hold.

As a result of this many of our members have discovered  skills and confidence they did not know they had.


Members have found that they are able to use these experiences, and new-found confidence in other parts of their life.
